Nations Housing Assurance, Inc. (NHA) was established to build affordable single family homes in the inner city neighborhoods of Houston and surrounding area of Harris County, Texas for low and moderate income families and first time home buyers. NHA also provides property acquisition, construction and financial services to the buyers of our affordable housing and the communities where they live.

In addition to the above services, NHA can now assist our customers with home and business energy assessments, installation of energy efficiency products like electric usage reduction equipment, solar electric, solar water heating, insulation and energy loss prevention.

Many neighborhoods around the Houston inner city and Harris County have, over time, fallen into various stages of deterioration and abandonment. These areas are typically defined as low income and declining neighborhoods. The condition of these neighborhoods is due largely to the flight of residents to the suburbs seeking newer homes, better schools, shopping malls and planned community concepts.

The current revitalization and redevelopment of the Downtown and the Close-In Areas of Houston combined with positive population and job growth has spawned a return of residential buyers seeking townhomes, condominium and single family homes in many areas of Houston. Unfortunately for low and moderate income home buyers, most of the single family construction in these inner city areas has been high density, high priced development which is out of their financial reach.

NHA was organized to meet the needs of low and moderate income homebuyers in neighborhoods which heretofore have been described as declining and deteriorating. These areas hold a wealth of vacant, developed lots with city streets and water and sewer services immediately available. Many of these areas border areas already supporting newer, higher priced builder activity. NHA intends to purchase lots in these adjacent areas and provide affordable modular housing to our target homebuyers.

Using our unique modular construction techniques, licensing as an Industrialized Builder by the State of Texas under Registration Number IHB-1078, our many years of construction and real estate experience and budgeted land acquisition, we hope to make it possible for our target homebuyers to reach their American Dream and acquire a high quality affordable home within their financial means.

In addition to housing, many of the same low to moderate income families own homes that are very energy inefficient. This fact makes their utility bills cost the an inordinate amount of money as a percentage of their overall income. The problem is that many families cannot afford to make energy efficiency repairs or install energy efficient systems in their homes because of the cost of these systems and technologies. NHA has partnered with several companies that make energy efficiency products that reduce electric consumption, thereby reducing electric bills and greenhouse emissions, produce electricity and hot water from solar, and insulate and seal homes to reduce heat and cooling loss.
